Announcing Gayle Sheppard, Corporate Vice President, Azure Data, Microsoft Corporation, as the keynote speaker for the 5th edition of Data Platform Summit.

It is indeed an honor to host Gayle Sheppard.

Developers, DBAs, Architects, Data Scientists, VPs, Directors & Heads of Data & Analytics  – it is time for the engineering & program management brigade of Asia to get excited as you will hear from the lady who leads the program management efforts of the entire Microsoft Data & Analytics Platform. Microsoft Responsibilities/Contributions – Sheppard leads the vision, strategy, product management, and customer experiences for Microsoft’s portfolio of data platform products and services: SQL Server, SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Database for MySQL, Database for PostgreSQL, Database for Maria DB, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, HDInsight, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Catalog, and Microsoft’s Analytics Platform.

Pre-Microsoft Work Experience – Prior to Microsoft, Gayle was Vice President and General Manager at Saffron Group (an AI company focused on one shot learning, knowledge representation and reasoning systems acquired by Intel in 2015), and earlier held positions at Saffron of Chairman and CEO, Executive Chair, COO and the Founder team. Her career in the enterprise software industry is evidenced by global senior executive positions with PeopleSoft USA, MarketMile Inc (an AMEX funded company), and J.D.Edwards (WW, Japan, and Asia Pacific).

Her esteemed background as a specialist in AI and the digitization of business is coupled by an in-depth knowledge in the adoption and integration of AI systems, and implementing cloud and IoT frameworks across industries.

Education – She holds degrees in business focused in operational research and finance from the University of South Florida.

Affiliations – Advisor to and speaker for Women in Data Science, Women in Big Data and AI and advisor to Freedom Forward, a San Francisco organization focused on reducing youth trafficking and to insuring those who have experienced it have opportunities to thrive.

Family/Other Interests – Gayle lives in San Francisco with her Bedlington Terrier, Cooper.
